I have relatives who have multiple bathrooms yet keep one litter box for 4 cats in their kitchen under the breakfast bar, just 2 yards from the stove, and closer yet to the fridge. It always smells, when you walk in through the side door, because it's also close to that little hallway. I finally told them it was a bad idea, but they said they didn't want to smell cat biznezz when they were doing their biznezz. It is not a problem to remove a cat box in order to shower, because it stay in the same area, and again, you can clean it twice a day so it's super fresh!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-54760946476286369902009-06-22T16:52:35.828-07:002009-06-22T16:52:35.828-07:00thanks sugar! i did find this informative article ...thanks sugar! i did find this informative article on WHY FLUSHING CAT FECES MAY BE HARMFUL TO WILDLIFE:

http://www.moderncat.net/2008/11/13/toilet-training-your-cat/laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01460321651292267296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-82961139700885797952009-06-22T16:19:18.439-07:002009-06-22T16:19:18.439-07:00I'm loving your blog. I am sure you can find more on this if you google it.Sugarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14536167915933177591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-26675151388841003432009-06-22T15:55:03.110-07:002009-06-22T15:55:03.110-07:00i was JUST thinking how great it would be if i cou...i was JUST thinking how great it would be if i could do that!! it's not the box i mind so much it's the litter that gets everywhere that drives me crazy...

my cats aren't terribly graceful but i'll look it up :)laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01460321651292267296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-20512112735317930862009-06-22T15:47:18.297-07:002009-06-22T15:47:18.297-07:00This probably sounds crazy... but I'd suggest ...This probably sounds crazy... but I'd suggest training your cat to use the toilet. That way you dont have to deal with the litter smell or where to lug the box...

Its surprisingly easy. A good friend of mine taught her older cat how to do it in a matter of a couple of weeks. I'm sure if you google it, there will be good ideas on how to get started and keep it up!

AND, how cool is it to tell guests you cat is literally potty trained!

good luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-73090346548372360172009-06-17T17:56:32.210-07:002009-06-17T17:56:32.210-07:00Good point. My bf has his right near the kitchen and I swear his cat is timing his litter box visits to coincide with our dinners.riyehttp://www.mayizumi.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-26188891176779985082009-06-17T11:36:00.597-07:002009-06-17T11:36:00.597-07:00riye, believe me i thought the same thing at first...riye, believe me i thought the same thing at first! it is kind of a pain but not more of an annoyance to have it out in this tiny apt. with litter boxes i find it's taking the lesser of the evils on where to put it. but now that i've had it there for a while i'm used to it and it's not so bad...

the only other thing i could think of is making a bench style sofa with the litter box hidden inside, but then it's still annoying to get in there to clean it, and in my experience with the litter box it's out of sight out of mind so at least i clean it more now.laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01460321651292267296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7259302379653175346.post-3429333498437417392009-06-17T11:18:38.641-07:002009-06-17T11:18:38.641-07:00I was wondering what you were going to do with the...I was wondering what you were going to do with the litter box. I am thinking of doing the same (if my freaking apartment ever gets out of escrow hell). You don't think it will be a pain to have to take the box out every time you want to shower?
